An instrument for the private grower.

Botanical Legacy is the observatory we wanted for our own conservancies. A quiet, calibrated record of every specimen — what it is, what it needs, how it is doing — refreshed nightly against your local climate and your last photograph.

Plant care, but legible.

The cultivator who keeps fifty specimens runs a small ecology — sunlight, airflow, substrate moisture, photoperiod, the slow drift of seasons. Most of that ecology runs on intuition, a notebook, and a few reminders that have to be re-written each week.

We thought there was an instrument missing. Not an app of checklists — a Sanctuary that quietly logs what the specimens are doing, models what they will need, and asks for your attention only when the model is unsure or the specimen is in trouble.

A Digital Shadow per specimen, refreshed nightly.

Every specimen in your Sanctuary runs a Digital Shadow — a per-plant simulation calibrated against your local weather, your latest photographs, and any sensor readings the specimen has. The Shadow models hydration, vapor-pressure deficit, photoperiod, and seasonal phenology.

Once a day the Shadows refresh. The Sanctuary Brief reads the field: which specimens are thriving, which need attention, and the precise next interventions calibrated to each one. The morning Brief is one screen.

No advertising, no resale, no profiling.

We make money one way — Cultivator and Conservancy memberships. There is no advertising surface in the Sanctuary, ever. We do not sell, share, or rent your specimen data. We do not profile you to third parties. Your data is yours, exportable to research-friendly formats from your Account page, deletable in one click.

Botanical Vision v5 runs on Google Cloud Gemini. We send the photograph and the species name; we do not send your account identity. Debug logs of those calls are deleted after seven days.

Three working principles.

Quiet instruments

Every alert pays a cost in attention. The Brief is calibrated to surface what genuinely requires you — and only that.

Specimen-centric, not user-centric

The Digital Shadow is the unit of work. Every screen, every notification, every model is about the specimen first; the cultivator is the one who reads.

Open archives

Your photographs, telemetry, and care log download as a single archive whenever you ask for one. The Sanctuary is a record you can take with you.
